Cost Accountant/Analyst

A unique, home grown Canadian company, based in Victoria is growing at a phenomenal rate. They manufacture and produce a high demand product in a very competitive marketplace and have carved off a unique niche in a growing category. Due to their growth we are looking to add a Cost Accountant/Analyst to join their finance team.

The Cost Accountant/Analyst is responsible for the all the financial reporting, analysis and support at the local production/manufacturing facility. The Cost Accountant/Analyst reports directly to the Manager of Finance and is responsible for preparing, analyzing and auditing regular production reports. Key analysis consists of inventory, costing, labour, expenses, yields etc. The Cost Accountant is also responsible to provide support and analysis to the management team to assist in creating greater efficiencies and opportunities.

Qualifications

* An accounting degree/diploma and pursuing a CPA designation

* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment

* Experience in ERP, ideally SAP implementation an asset

* Experience in performing cost and inventory analysis

* Strong analytical skills

* Advanced Excel skills
