Commercial Supervisor Underwriting

Lock Search Group is actively sourcing for an organized and experienced Commercial Lines Underwriting Supervisor, to support their clients in the Vancouver area.  The Underwriting Supervisor for the commercial lines team brings valuable service, experience, and knowledge to policyholders while providing mentorship and expertise to the underwriting team.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead and mentor the underwriting team. Communicate performance expectations, facilitate training and foster a “best practices” culture.
  • Oversee Underwriting policies, procedures, and regulations while ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance using management technologies
  • Advise customers based on risk analysis and external data sources
  • Coordinate details with stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Determine policy renewal eligibility in consultation with company guidelines goals
  • Build strong working relationships throughout the industry

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience, property, and casualty an asset
  • Experience in leading/supervising a team of underwriters
  • Completed post-secondary education or related business experience
  • Completed or working toward a Property and Casualty Industry Insurance Designation.
  • Able to diligently review comprehensive information with thorough attention to detail
  • Decisive and persuasive communication style
  • Ability to independently manage workload and identify priorities in a high-pressure environment
