Due to the enormous growth opportunity in Western Canada, we have an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager to join their team based in Vancouver.
The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible to manage and drive new and existing transportation/logistics solutions among the key accounts in BC. The Business Development Manager will focus on understanding the clients’ freight, transportation and logistics requirements, have an intimate knowledge of their business, and how to better service and exceed the clients expectations. As these are the top key accounts for the company, excellent relationship management experience is crucial.
Responsibilities:
- To drive new revenue growth, meet or exceed company sales goals and targets.
- Actively develop and manage current assigned client base.
- Create and develop a strategic sales plan and execute the plan.
- Develop net new business opportunities throughout BC.
- Maintain, retain and expand client relations.
- Primary responsibility will be promoting the various international transportation and logistics solutions
- Accurate pipeline management and forecasting on a weekly basis.
- Develop strong internal relationships with cross-functional departments.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary Diploma/Degree in Business, Logistics or a related field preferred.
- Completion of 2nd year CSCB or International Trade related program.
- 5+ years’ sales experience in freight forwarding / logistics / transportation industry
- Proven success in driving new business opportunities as well as managing existing accounts.
- Must be self-motivated with a professional approach.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to organize and multi-task.
- Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Excellent knowledge of the international markets.
- Ability to travel locally and at times nationally/internationally required.
