
Lock Search Group is sourcing a self-motivated Business Development Manager for their client, a provider of integrated supply chain solutions that currently operates more than 2000 locations worldwide. Servicing their clients in virtually every market globally, they are a true leader in global supply chain management and logistics solutions. Due to the enormous growth opportunity in Western Canada, a Business Development Manager to join their team based in Vancouver.
The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible for driving new accounts for our client’s transportation/logistics solutions in the BC market. They will focus on understanding potential clients’ freight, transportation, and logistics requirements, demonstrate an intimate knowledge of their business, and know how to better service and exceed the client’s expectations. As these will be new key accounts for the company, and ability to establish trust and proven relationship management is crucial. Responsibilities:
- Drive new revenue growth, by meeting or exceeding company sales goals and targets.
- Establish prospecting plans, and identify potential clients using demonstrated industry knowledge
- Generate new business opportunities in the BC market through the attendance of trade shows, industry trade associations, networking events and other opportunities that identify target clients.
- Anticipate customer needs and deliver solutions adapted to client expectations
- Confidently negotiate services and propose complementary services for clients as appropriate.
- Obtain and manage client service agreements
- Accurately manage the sales pipeline and execute accurate weekly forecasting
- Develop strong internal relationships with cross-functional departments.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary Diploma/Degree in Business, Logistics or a related field preferred.
- Proven sales experience in sales and anticipating customer needs
- Freight forwarding / logistics / transportation industry preferred
- Demonstrated success in driving new business opportunities
- Willingness to travel locally, plan work and measures performance
- Full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to learn and use other applications
- Fluency in second language an asset
