Due to the enormous growth opportunity in Western Canada, we have an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager, Customs Brokerage on the customs brokerage team based in Vancouver.
The Business Development Manager, Customs Brokerage is primarily responsible to manage and drive the Customs Brokerage business among the key accounts in BC. The Business Development Manager will focus on understanding the clients’ customs and logistics requirements, have an intimate knowledge of their business, and how to better service and exceed the clients’ expectations. As these are the top key accounts for the company, excellent relationship management experience is crucial.
Responsibilities:
- To drive new revenue growth, meet or exceed company sales goals and targets.
- Actively develop and manage current assigned client base.
- Create and develop and execute a strategic sales plan.
- Develop net new business opportunities throughout BC.
- Maintain, retain, and expand client relations.
- Primary responsibility will be promoting the Customs Brokerage services. However, you are also encouraged to promote and sell other core products and services including international transportation (ocean, air), door delivery trucking, warehousing, insurance, and other logistic services.
- Accurate pipeline management and forecasting on a weekly basis.
- Develop strong internal relationships with cross-functional departments.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary Diploma/Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Completion of 2nd year CSCB or International Trade related program.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Customs Tariff and Department regulations.
- 5+ years’ sales experience in freight forwarding / logistics / transportation industry with a focus on Customs Brokerage sales.
- Proven success in driving new business opportunities as well as managing existing accounts.
- Must be self-motivated with a professional approach.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to organize and multi-task.
- Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Excellent knowledge of the international markets.
- Ability to travel locally and at times nationally/internationally required.
- Only candidates with Customs Brokerage experience will be considered
